Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Recognition runs in your own browser (WebAssembly, locally) and the image never touches a server. The only network access is downloading the language model from a public CDN on first use — roughly a dozen MB for Simplified Chinese; the browser caches it, so the same language is not downloaded again.
What kind of images recognize well?
Printed text, sharp screenshots and clean scans work well. Blurry photos, handwriting, decorative fonts and complex multi-column layouts drop accuracy noticeably. Always proof the result against the original, especially numbers and proper nouns.
Which languages and formats are supported?
English, Simplified Chinese, or a mix of both; PNG, JPG, WebP and BMP images up to 10MB each.
