FAQ
How do I quickly check that my references are valid before submitting?
Paste the whole bibliography and hit Check. The tool extracts every DOI and queries Crossref one by one: entries with a matching record are marked valid, entries the registry says do not exist (404) are marked dead — usually a typo — and entries that could not be reached are marked unresolved and can be re-checked individually.
Will my references be uploaded anywhere?
No. Your text never leaves the browser; only the DOIs extracted from it are sent, one by one, to the public Crossref API (same policy as the citation converter). Entries without a DOI never touch the network.
What is the difference between dead and unresolved?
Dead means Crossref explicitly reports the DOI does not exist — check the original source and fix it. Unresolved means a timeout or rate limit, not a problem with the DOI itself; just hit Retry on that entry. Duplicated DOIs are flagged separately so you can clean them up.
