FAQ

What information must a blind-review manuscript hide?

Usually anything that points back to you: author names, affiliations, emails, grant numbers. Add each one to the redaction list and the tool replaces them with a single placeholder across the body, headers and footers, and wipes the author and last-modified-by fields from the document properties.

Is my manuscript uploaded to a server?

No. Unpacking, replacing and repacking all happen in your browser and the file's bytes never leave your machine — anonymization material is sensitive, and zero-upload client-only processing is this tool's core design.

Why does the report list items as needs manual review?

Word often splits one piece of text across several runs, so a phrase stored that way cannot be replaced reliably by automation. Those cases are reported explicitly with their context — follow the hints and search-and-replace in Word yourself. Better one extra check than one missed redaction.
